This sale is for a large size hardback edition entitled “The Cookery Book of Lady Clark of Tillypronie,” with an Introduction by Geraldene Holt, the original Preface from the June, 1901 edition, numerous illustrations and with pictorial endpapers.
It was published by Southover Press, of Lewes, East Sussex, in 1994 and is an unabridged reprint of this classic..
The Cookery Book of Lady Clark of Tillypronie, a compilation of Victorian era recipes, was collected over a lifetime by Charlotte, Lady Clark of Tillypronie (née Coltman, 1851-1897), and published posthumously in 1909. The earliest recipe was collected in 1841; the last in 1897.
The book measures 9.5 inches x 6.5 inches x 1.5 inches and has 415 pages (including illustrations and 3 blank pages for Notes and Memoranda).
The book is in good neat condition for its age, with minor wear/chips to the edge of the original dust-jacket (neatly price-clipped). There are NO inscriptions/book-plates and NO other ink or pencil markings in the book. The binding is very good with no loose or missing pages.
A wonderful illustrated edition.
