The first item is is an Otaki 1/48 scale kit of the Kawanishi N1K1-J Shiden IJN fighter, Allied code name George. The box is open, the contents are complete. It is, I believe, out of production.

     The kit comes with a cockpit and is pretty accurate. The N1K1-J was an expedient, developed by taking a Rex float plane, removing the float and adding a rather complex, spindly landing gear.

     The second item is a Squadron vac set of two canopies for the Otaki kit. They do a lot to improve the looks of the finished kit.

     The third item is an Asahi Journal Special dedicated to N1K1, N1K1-J and N1K2-J aircraft. There is historical informaqtion, kit reviews and detailed drawings. This newsletter is out of print and hard to find.
