Description

This is a Brass Car Sides 567 N Scale Brass Passenger Car Sides Only - Kit (Etched Brass, Unpainted) Challenger P-S 56-Seat Coach (Chair Car) UP #5200-5211, CNW #6160-6166 Built new for the 1937 Challenger, these 56-seat Chair Lounge cars were provided especially for ladies, and equipped with a nurse's room next to the lounge. A total of 19 were built by Pullman-Standard as Plan 7836, with 12 assigned to UP (#5200-5211) and seven to the CNW (#6160-6166). The cars were operated to both Los Angeles and San Francisco. Between 1946 and 1954, UP converted its cars into Club Lounges #1502-1523. These sides accurately depict the prototype's window proportions and overall length of 78' 10, with full skirting and equipment access doors. They can be used with a modified American Limited Models #147-8010 or 147-8020 Core Kits (both sold separately); the Core Kit must be shortened by removing a segment of the roof and floor.
