Highly collectible Lomonosov Porcelain - stamped USSR!  The USSR disbanded in the early 1990s, current production figurines are stamped Made in Russia.

The Lomonosov porcelain plant was founded in 1744.  It was the first of its kind in Russia.  The plant created luxurious porcelain miniatures for the Czar's court and later supplied the nobility with the exquisite vases and sculptures.   In the 19th century the plant was closely connected with the Russian Academy of Fine Arts and has since kept step with the contemporary demand for unique porcelain figurines.   The Lomonosov plant and its artists have been awarded gold medals at the World Exhibitions in Paris 1926, New York 1937 and Brussels 1958.

All USSR items are very collectible. From my extensive collection, dozens more to be listed over the coming months!
