This little iron is nickel plated and with a good cleaning it would really shine! But I don't do anything to old items, and that means everything old I've ever owned, has not been hurt by me! Some like old toys to look brand new, but really what is wrong with an old toy showing it's age? The nickel is worn on the bottom, and yes this little iron has been touched, played with and enjoyed for many years. The base is 3" X 1 1/2" and from the base to the top is 2 1/8" high. At the end of this information are 4 great photos to show it from every side. The final picture is a scan of the iron in book 1, "TUESDAYS CHILDREN" by the Politzers. This is page 52 (fig.97) B, and shows the information about this little diamond grip iron. Some of these little irons were painted over the nickel plating, but this one probably wasn't.
