    Is this stethoscope any good ?

    We feel that the KilaScopes model 750 compares favorably with the 3M® Littmann®) Cardiology III ®. We rate our scope at around 9.5.

     

    Is the diaphragm tunable ?

    No. A fixed diaphragm gives a crisper louder sound. It is more durable and will not erode. The stethoscope like any drum (Helmholtz resonator) works best with a taut membrane.

    Ideal tube length ?

    A shorter tube will give you a better sound. However a longer tube gives you more flexibility. For most uses a 22" tube is optimum..

    Why is it so heavy ?

    It is the heavy head and the thick tube that produce the great sound and eliminate. noise and vibrations.

    What's the best scope for me?

    For general purpose (GP), students, and rounds we recommend the standard edition model. The cardiology models are ideal for diagnosis. EMT''s and specialists prefer the single head. The Bell function is required for some diagnosis.

    My scope is uncomfortable ?

    You can adjust the springs on the ear assembly (binaural). Stretch the arms apart to create a loose fit. Compress them together to get a tighter feel. You may also benefit from smaller ear tips.

    What if it breaks ?

    We replace parts free during the first year. After that you can buy spare parts for about $1. Tubes last about 3 years. The head- forever.
