This is a pair of Japanese porcelain shi shi or foo dogs. They are 5 ¼ inches tall and 5 inches long. They are unmarked but we believe they were made in the Kutani area. They have vibrant colors with turquoise, aubergine and iron red. They are very good quality and heavily potted. We believe they date to the early 20^th century. They are in very good condition. The only issue is some glaze has flaked off on the tip of the tail.
