                 Antique Chinese Protuberant Wood Carving Relief Opium Bed Panel in Red and Gold

features highly detailed carved genre scene with seven figures inside of traditional Chinese patio/garden.

The carving scene is surrounded with a nicely carved protuberant relief frame,all carving details are situated inside of this like relief frame. 

The piece is likely made from a Rose Wood.
The bottom inside of relief frame has very unusual finish very similar to tinniest points/pieces of any kind of sparkling glass what gives effect of small stones on a real ground.

There is small gadget on the back side or hanging. .

Dated most likely back to the late Qing ( Ching ) Period ,late19th C - early 1900's .....

Measurements (approximately):
total size: 15 3/8" long x 6 1/2" wide ( 39cm x 16.5cm )
relief frame with carving scene inside : 14 3/4" x 5 7/8" ( 37.5cm x 15cm )

The piece is in perfect antique condition with small wear to the gold paint, there is dust inside of relief details, one split in the side of the lower right hand corner, pic.11, 12, not so noticeable; the edges of the piece are unfinished; all this is very typical for so old wood,commensurable to the 120+ years age and really do not detract beauty and value of this unique piece of Chinese art;the carving figures are not damaged with all details present,with some wear to the gold and dust inside of carved details.

This is the true museum piece,reflecting the essence of antique Chinese carving mastery.
