Not sure exactly what the purpose of this box could have been, I was thinking maybe a cigarette box, considering it was lined with wood, Electro Plated Copper Alloy, stamped and dated 1899, by Dole Silver Co, out of Taunton, Mass......excellent condition, measures 6 1/4 x 3 1/4 and almost 1 1/2 inches deep....wood lined, adjustable; hinged cover.
