US Army Special Forces troopers deployed to Vietnam in the early 1960s in uniforms unsuited for the vicious guerrilla war awaiting them. They were allowed great leeway in their choice of field wear, so many opted for the classic tiger stripe camouflage used by elite ARVN units. Tiger stripe camo quickly became symbolic of the US special warrior in Vietnam. This pair of US Army Vietnam SPECIAL FORCES ARVN CIDG TIGER STRIPE CAMO COMBAT PANTS are in good condition, with moderate tearing to the inner back pant cuffs, some reddish paint staining at the front knees, a bit of reddish paint staining at the front left thigh, a thin line of whitish imprinting at the front right thigh, a small seam tear at the lower seat, two small spots of dark soiling at the back left thigh, very small surface nicks at the middle back right and lower back left legs, and with some scattered fading and age wear evident (some pictured). Otherwise, the pants are in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough 100% cotton construction. Most interestingly, they retain a good amount of the original tiger stripe camouflage colors, feature a button fly, and are crafted in the classic 7 pocket cut, with the familiar small button first aid pocket at the lower front left leg. Interestingly, they carry a "smiley face" hand stitched in red at the interior fly, and are a fine example of very rare, original US Army Vietnam SPECIAL FORCES ARVN CIDG TIGER STRIPE CAMO COMBAT PANTS.
