Jazz took off during the 1920s, when Prohibition swept the nation and speakeasies popped up, providing entertainment, live music, and illicit beverages. By the 1930s, big bands, swing music, and jazz had infiltrated clubs, radio stations, stages, and venues across America, resulting in some of the best music of the century. This singer would fit right in with those big bands. She looks beautiful in a bright red dress with black trim and a fluffy white boa. She belongs with Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James!
