Description:
Fritz Aquatics Mardel Maracyn Plus (freshwater/saltwater) Solution treats infections resulting from fin rot, tail rot, popeye, mouth fungus, dropsy (swollen body, protruding scales), and ulcers. Maracyn plus contains 2 (two) powerful antibiotics (Trimethoprin and Sulfonamide). Biospheres products make use of a revolutionary technology that delivers the antibiotic directly to the fish. Multi-layered microshperes attach to the fish and break down one layer at a time, releasing the antibiotics in a controlled, regulated manner. Chitosan, a filming agent, contains a similar molecular structure to that of the mucus coat of a fish. Because of this property, Chitosan seals the treatment in contact with the tissue surface.
Important:
Maracyn Plus is non-toxic to invertebrates
A slight reduction in biological activity will result from the use of Maracyn Plus
Normal biological activity will resume after Maracyn Plus has been removed from water table
To remove Maracyn Plus from water, simply perform a partial water change, and replace activated carbon
Maracyn Plus should not be used in conjunction with any other antibiotic treatments
Complete the full treatment and carry out a partial water change before using any other antibiotic
Due to the unique action of microspheres contained in BioSpheres liquid products, care should be used when combining Maracyn with medications from other sources
Consult a veterinarian or fish expert for assistance in diagnosis of disease causing organisms and treatment options
Dosage:
Add 2 teaspoons (10 mL) per 10 US Gallons (38L) of water. Treat on days 1, 3, and 5. Use as soon as the first signs of disease are noted.
Treated water may appear cloudy at first due to the presence of the microscopic spheres
Cloudiness will dissipate within 30 - 60 minutes
Normal filtration and air dispersion is recommended
