This is a very pretty Art Deco Silver And Red Enamelled Hand Mirror 1925.  The mirror is circular in shape and has a silver rim inset with red enamel to the back and also to the front of the handle.  There is also a white enamel outline between the red and the silver rims.  It has clear import marks for:-

Assay Office:    LONDON

Date:                 1925/26

Makers Marks: PWG

Dimensions:     9.25 inches long, with the actual mirror being just over 5 inches in diameter.  It weighs 303g

Condition:       It is in good condition but it does have a few small dents in the silver rims together with some light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item and is commensurate with age and use.   There are also a couple of very small areas of scratching to the actual mirror, but these do not distort any reflection.  There is also some surface scratching to the glass covering of the enamel and a scratch to the front of the handle, again to the outer glass covering of the enamel but this is minor and only really noticed in certain lights.  The above sounds far worse than it actually is, but I do try to describe my items as accurately as possible

Remarks:    This is a very pretty silver and enamel hand/dressing table mirror, with red being an unusual enamel colour as usually you find it on silver in more pastel colours.  This mirror would look lovely in any bedroom

Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in "as new condition".
