If the size you are looking for is unavailable, message us as we can order direct from our supplier in Turkey. The only difference will be that it will take 10-15 business days to arrive.

The Ring is Solid Sterling Silver, marked .925.  It is not hollow, filled or plated.

If you have never had a puzzle ring before, please read the history and mythology below regarding the ring style.  Puzzle rings are usually 3 to 24 separate interlocked bands.  If the ring is removed, the bands separate and the wearer must know how to put them back together in order to wear the ring again.  This can be a daunting task since they must be fit together in an exact way to make it one ring again.   Unless you solve the secret, the ring will not fit back together.  Once you take it apart, you can have lots of fun trying to figure out the puzzle.

Just in case you do have trouble fitting the ring back together, please see the link for a detailed video of how to put it back together that I have attached for your convenience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huoFQSu7Cvo

This ring and style are also available in gold, tri-color, and/or white gold.  These can be purchased as a special order and will be shipped directly from the manufacturer.

 HISTORY AND MYTHOLOGY

These rings are often called Puzzle Rings, Turkish Harem Rings and/or Turkish Promise Rings.

It is generally agreed that the puzzle ring’s country of origin is Turkey. The story is that in ancient times a Turkish nobleman was so in love with his wife that he had a ring designed for her so that when they were apart, she would remain faithful to him.  If she removed the ring to enter into an affair with another man during his absence, he would know this immediately upon his return. He refused to tell her the secret to the puzzle.  I often wonder if, a clever wife would be able to outsmart him, solve the puzzle, and protect her secrets - or just not remove the ring for any reason.

The Puzzle Ring in Literature

'The Puzzle Ring' is a children's time travel adventure written by the Australian author Kate Forsyth.  The heroine, Hannah, must search for the four lost loops of a puzzle ring in order to break an ancient fairy curse upon her family. The puzzle ring in the book is forged in the shape of a rose.

The Rose design puzzle rings that we have listed matches the description of the ring that Hannah was searching for.

PERSONAL NOTE TO BUYERS

I have had a puzzle ring on my hand for the past 40 years. It is been fun, interesting and has become such a part of me, I cannot imagine being without it. There are several helpful uses to wearing a puzzle ring - DISTRACTION.   If you are ever in a situation where you are receiving unwanted attention, but do not want to insult the person because of professional or personal reasons - USE YOUR RING. Take your ring off, hand it to the individual and ask him or her to solve the puzzle. This works especially well with people who are a bit under the influence or are very egotistical. Hopefully, they can’t figure it out and you are off the hook. I have been fortunate, the few times I have had to resort to this last-ditch effort, the puzzle went unsolved. Unfortunately, I don’t have a backup plan if the person solves the puzzle. Please consider having an alternative back-up plan, just in case the person knows the secret of the Ring.
