Sony DCR-PC9E ultra compact and lightweight DV camcorder offers digital video and audio recording. The digital technology delivers rich and accurate picture quality with 500 lines of horizontal resolution. The camcorder can also record digital still images 640 x 480 VGA resolution and store them directly onto Sony's Memory Stick media. Equipped with Advanced HAD CCD, it provides stunning detail and clarity.
DCR-PC9E Mini DV Handycam features Carl Zeiss precision lens system, world renowned for professional quality, 2.5" touch screen Swivel Screen LCD monitor, and color viewfinder. The camcorder combines expanded battery capacity, MPEG movie capability and USB connectivity, and maintains the diminutive form factor of its award-winning forerunners. It still packs a powerful punch with a 10x optical/120x digital zoom, and a 1/4-inch 800K pixel CCD imager. Advanced HAD enhanced CCD design allows more light to reach the imager which reduces video noise to improve signal to noise ratio by up to 6dB.
Professional quality precision Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens uses a unique lens coating that reduces glare and flaring, while providing improvement in detail and contrast. This results in vivid image brilliance, true-to-life colour saturation, and perfect renditions of subtle tones. Mini DV recording provides outstanding digital picture and sound on super-compact MiniDV cassettes. It offers up to three times the color bandwidth of VHS and significantly lower video noise. An "on-screen" touch panel system on the LCD allows you to navigate through the camera's menu system and access features like playback zoom. With Sony's NightShot system you can capture video even when shooting in total darkness (0 lux) up to 10 feet (3 m) away using the built-in infrared system. By engaging the Super NightShot system, DCR-PC9E will automatically adjust the shutter speed for even better exposure and detail.
Mechanical shutter system provides progressive scan performance while utilizing an interlaced scanning system. Images will be sharp and clear with excellent definition. 2x playback zoom enables you to select and enlarge an area of interest within digital stills and video stills. Then you can save the new image as a separate file. Digital program editing allows you to select a sequence of 20 scenes and then controls dubbing via i.LINK to another i.LINK camcorder, or via infra-red remote to an analogue VCR. 12-bit/16-bit PCM digital stereo with audio dubbing 16-bit recording capability offers the same, outstanding sound quality as compact disc. 12-bit dubbing capability enables you to add stereo music or narration without disturbing the original sound tracks.
