The Biotest Hycon RCS unit employs Agar Impaction as the collection principle. Air-borne microbes behaving as particles withinin a field of influence approximately 16 inches above the drum housing are drawn toward the impeller blades. Then, owning to the applied centrifugal force, the microbial particles are impacted at high velocity onto the Agar Surface (not included). Once impacted, the microbes grow when the Agar Strips (not included) are incubated at appropriate temperature for a specified time. The strips are counted and the results reported as colony-forming units (CFU) pwe unit volume.
Operates using (4) "D" cell batteries (not included)
Condition:
The air sampler powers on and is in good cosmetic condition. The impeller spins as it should. We do not have the ability to test this unit beyond powering it on. Manual and carrying case are included. Agar strips, batteries and all other accessories are NOT included. The air sampler may need to be recalibrated. Please see photos for details!
