You are bidding brand new g60 supercharger rebuild kit. The parts fit Volkswagen Corrado G60, VW Golf G60, VW Passat G60 and other VW/custom cars with G60 supercharger mounted. Kit includes all parts, which were used by VW up to year 1993. All parts were purchased from the same suppliers, who supplied VW in 1993. Some parts were purchased many years ago and did lay long time in stocks.

Kit comes with everything, what needs your G60 supercharger:

  • 1 x OEM displacer bearing 

  • 4 x FAG casing bearings

  • 1 x 12mm wide OPTIBELT timing belt

  • 5 x NAK Viton made oil seals, high temp resistance

  • 8 x VW brown apex strips 

  • 1 x Professional rebuild 'step by step' guide


Buy with confidence ! All parts are correct, and the same, which VW used in 1993. All bearings are high speed and C3 rated. Apex strips and seals represent super quality. The belt is wider than the standard 9mm belt used in the past. This kit will last for years.

How often g60 needs to be rebuild (standard pulley...) ?

 

-apex strips 25000 miles (40000 km)

-bearings 53000 miles (85000 km)

-seals 53000 miles (85000 km)

-timing belt 12000 miles (20000 km)

The interval depends on the charger's pulley. For smaller pulleys - you must do rebuilds often, because supercharger works with higher revs. For 68 mm pulley above named mileage will be 3x less, remember about it.

Why you should do rebuild?

 

1. Some superchargers don't need to be rebuild often. But talking about G60 - rebuild is essential, if you forget about it, your G60 will die soon.

2. Your supercharger (and car) will waste 50% power without rebuild, because apex strips don't 'seal' the supercharger well and you lose the boost.

3. The displacer is very fragile and expensive (new one = about 1500 USD), when the apex strips are drained, the air pressure and blow through supercharger will consign them inside the supercharger and then they will cut the displacer!

3. Weared bearings change the angle of displacer rotation and the displacer makes holes into supercharger casing bodies. Also it causes fatal failure of displacer. The filings from the displacer fly to the intercooler and finish total destruction.

4. Breaking the supercharger belt brings the total destruction of g60 supercharger (1st camshaft stays and displacer hits the halve's 'snails' with a great force) So it's recommended by VW, that these belts be changed regular - every 12000 miles.
