Wollensak Velostigmat 2" 50mm F2.8 Leica RF screw lens (Coated) M mount adapt

The f2.8 Velostigmat lens in Leica Screw Mount was a supposed prototype from E.Leitz New York during the late stages of the war years (c. 1945). E.Leitz N.Y. had started making lenses for Leicas using lens heads from local supplier, Wollensak. The 90mm and 127mm lenses were put into production. There was talk of the 50mm f2.8 lens also being made available but these are almost legendary.

A keen Leica enthusiast had one of these made up into Leica screw Mount to see how it would look, having sourced the lens head elsewhere in the 'States. This is that lens.
