I received a small quantity of these Philips tubes MATCHED PAIRS AND EVEN SOME MATCHED QUADS, along with some Gold Pin Mullard E88CC tubes as well as one Amperex 6922 Gold Pin tube. This is an auction for a BRAND NEW MATCHED PAIR OF US MADE PHILIPS JAN 6922 TUBES. These NOS 6922 tubes are the Military Low Noise and ruggedized equivalent to a 6DJ8 and an ECC88. These tubes were U.S. manufactured in the 1980's and are supplied in their original boxes. Each tube has been tested on our Hickok 539C tube tester to insure excellent performance.

This Philips JAN 6922 type was rated the "best buy" by Vacuum Tube Valley magazine in their 6DJ8 / 6922 shootout. They cited a better bottom end and "less offensive" high frequencies as two of the reasons for their choice. This is also the exact same tube which is sold by Richardson's under the Bugle Boy brand name.

Hi Sandy & Barbara, As promised, here are our thoughts on your superb choice of 6922 tubes; as I said in my last email, WOW! I really didn’t think that the c-j premier 17 LS 2 could get any better! But…..it has, and is sounding so life like now, thanks to your superb advice and help in tube choice! As previously said, the first thing we both noticed was; how quiet these tubes are compared to the Russian tubes that are supplied by c-j. The next big improvement is in the bass, much more solid and a touch more real, if that makes any sense! The next HUGE improvement is in the midrange! So so smooth and again very life like and a much greater depth, also vocals greatly improved especially on female voice! The other great improvement is; the way the music now seems to flow so effortlessly and the pace also seems to be altered! Everything seems to be slightly slowed down a tad if that makes any sense! Sandy, I guess you have herd weird comments like that before?

Lastly; the highs are just stunning! Again so controlled, we were both totally blown away by listening to Patricia Barber / Café Blue, MFSL SACD, vocals and piano are just mind blowing! The other important piece of music which also blew me away was the Salvatore Accardo / The Violins of Cremona, Fone’ SACD, played on a “Giuseppe Guarneri violin, superb! Also I don’t if you have heard of the Italian speaker manufacturer; Sonus Faber? Only we have an original pair of the Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage speakers which we love! They used build these superb speakers by hand, to order only, and I believe that only two guys were capable of producing them at the factory and therefore could only make approx 10 pairs per month! They were produced from 1993 – 2005, the finish is superb all done by hand, built to the same high standards as the famous violin! Sandy if you don’t mind I could email you some pictures of our system, and of course a picture of your superb tubes glowing away in the `V` of the c-j pre-amp?

"Hi Sandy, Just a quick email to say thank you! The packaging was really good and everything arrived in mint condition. I'm impressed with how quick the valves arrived from America. After allowing them to warm for an hour, I gave them a try in my Musical Fidelity X-Can V3 last night. The Jan Phillips 6922 valves know how to capture every little detail! Such a warm and full bodied sound! I had never previously used the tube dampers, but they do seem to stop feedback through the tubes. How many more of the valves do you have? Do you get them often?

SPECIAL NOTE ON SHIPPING COSTS: I ship within the US via Priority Mail. My actual out-of-pocket cost to ship even one tube within the US is 6.60 for Priority Mail plus an additional expense for the private shipping Insurance plus $.65 for the Delivery Confirmation Number (that I will email to you after shipping). This totals $7.25 postage you will find on your package shipped to the US, plus the cost of private shipping insurance, packing materials such as bubble wrap and plastic "peanuts". I then need to carefully pack the tubes, make out the shipping label and Delivery Confirmation form and wait in line at the post office to ship. I am certainly not making a profit on shipping these tubes.

VERY FAST domestic shipping and insurance using USPS Priority Mail (2-3 Day Service) with Delivery Confirmation and extremely careful packing is $9.55 in the US including Alaska and Hawaii. Insured Priority Mail shipping to Puerto Rico is also $9.55. 98% of our items are shipped the same day or next business day after payment is received.

International Shipping Option via USPS First Class Mail International is $11.65 (4-7 days transit time plus time is customs) this cost also includes the necessary preparation of the Customs Paperwork necessary to ship Internationally.
