Rare Victorian Solid Silver Snuff/ Tobacco Case

Description - Delightful antique 19th century good quality good heavy gauge good gauge solid silver case of rectangular shaped form, possibly for tobacco or snuff, unsure of its country of origin but due to quality French, Russian, Britain. 

Spring loaded hinged lid with a thumb piece.

Embellished with beautiful hand engraved bright cut scroll foliate decoration plus both sides with vacant cartouches

Interior has a rich silver-gilt (Gold washed). 

There are no hallmarks, has been acid tested and is of a good grade solid silver dates to around 1880.

Condition - The case is in very good condition,  there are no dents, dinks, dints, splits, holes or repairs. 

Engraved decoration is in excellent order being crisp and clear.

Spring hinge lid in good working nut has some looseness

Interior silver-gilt is in very good condition being nice and bright.

Dimensions & Weight -  8.7cm long x 4.2cm wide x 2cm deep.  

The weight is 103.8 grams.
