NO RESERVE. 1/72 Soviet / Russian BM-27 Uragan ("Hurricane"), GRAU Designation 9P140, Self-Propelled 16-Tube Rocket Launching System, Operational Unit, Theater of Operations and Year are unknown. Designed in the Soviet Union and introduced into service by the Soviet Army in 1970, the BM-27 remains in use by the Russian Army down to the present day. The Red Star on the doors to the units cab suggest it represents a vehicle operated by the Soviet Union and not modern-day Russia.

The vehicle consists of a bank of 16 tubes for 220 mm rockets, which can be trained and elevated, mounted on the rear of a ZIL 8x8 chasis. A full salvo of all 16 rockets can be fired in as little as 20 seconds to targets within a 35 km radius.

One of a series of lower-priced 1/72 tanks and military vehicles released by Eaglemoss as their "Tanks of the World" subscription series, each of which consists of a model without a plastic base and clear acrylic display case sold and distributed on a cardboard base covered by custom blister-pack top. Apparently these were first issued in Russia as implied by all information on the base card being in Russian in the Cyrillic alphabet except for the English phrase "For children above 14 years old.' Several models in the series are tanks or military vehicles that have not been replicated elsewhere.

Of the information on the base card, all on the underside appears to be business language related to the factory in China in which the model was made and contact data in Moscow for the company that released it. The only information about the model itself consists of the few words or even characters on the top front of base card as can be seen in our third picture. The more detailed information in this listing is the result of research we conducted ourselves online.

Although the models themselves are relatively good representations of the prototype vehicles on which they are based, their finishes are very simple, generally consisting of a single color and minimal markings. In some cases the plastic turrets are made of a molded color close to the paint used on the metal hull but occasionally, as appears true with this model, the turret seems to have been painted in the same color as the hull.

Diecast model with plastic turret and small parts and rubber wheels. The launching tube assembly on the model does not appear to raise or rotate. Eaglemoss #CV002 - Sometimes referred to as EM-CV002.

MIB but the blister pack was opened along three edges to remove the model for our pictures. The model was then replaced in the blister pack and this was resealed with transparent tape along portions of its edges.

FOR ANYONE NOT FAMILIAR WITH HOW TO INTERPRET A MODEL'S SCALE, THE MODEL IS 5 1/8 INCHES LONG. THIS IS EQUIVALENT TO DIVIDING THE LENGTH OF THE REAL VEHICLE, DISREGARDING THE LENGTH OF THE GUN BARREL THAT MIGHT EXTEND BEYOND THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, IN INCHES BY 72.

The cost of postage for Canada is $15.50.
