Hello, my names Jeff and i have a passion for servicing Helios lenses back to their prime. To date, I've serviced well over 700 Helios lenses and sell them here for you to enjoy for many years to come.
I strip the lens down and using specialist cleaners, greases, ultra sonic cleanng tanks etc......... and then put the lens back together again for testing.
I spend a lot of time working on these Helios lens, and I pay a lot of attention to detail at every stage. I use a lot of expensive materials to service these lens.
All faded black inner element block paint is re-blackened to preserve contrast and definition etc...... then all glass is treated with a special wavelength UV light to kill any bacteria. This is part of my routine service to all lenses which are free from fungus.
Some of my descriptions for my Helio lenses may seem similar, that would be because I feel it also matches that of another one and thus keeping the relevant description the same and adding the differences.
The fact that you are looking at Helios means you probably already know that these 44-2's are legendary Carl Zeiss Biotar formula copies.
I frequently burn my oil lamp into the early hours servicing these lenses to be enjoyed by customers like you. Definitely worth it and I get satisfaction from the whole process.
Another hours servicing to bring out the best of this lens as you can get. Very clear optics throughout on this 37 year old vintage lens.
For sale is a excellent (pictures reflect the condition) looking Classic Green M42 screw mount Helios 44-2 with a SPARKLING POMEGRANATE PURPLE MULTI coated elements which has been fully serviced and tested on my Fuji Xpro 1 camera, before being released for sale here. These are typically very uniform in image quality and bokeh.
These multi coated elements can give you a nice medium saturations and good contrasts. You can always put a 49mm filter on to change to suit ones preferences. Win Win!
Right, I just did a few quick test shots as I'm preparing this listing to remind me of what this lens can do. As expected, its standard sharp even at f2 and at f4 the sharpness enters another level and the details come out even more. The colours are rendered so nicely and not over saturated.
As I'm shooting a metal object at f5.6, its uber sharp that I can almost taste the metal!

It is in a fabulous classic green style and shoots as good as these get. I'm sure you'll get the buzz from shooting with this Helios too!

The lens also give that really classic special bokeh which is special to these Helio's. These lenses are so underrated!
When I test shot this lens, i knew it was going to perform well.
The aperture dial clicks positively from end to end and the aperture control ring rotates as it should from end to end.
Aperture blades are clean and snappy after servicing as are on all my Helios lenses.
Looking through the lens, it looks very clear and both front and front elements look great! One can just gaze at these beautiful classics and be happy!
The focusing barrel turns from end to end in a smooth and steady way.
The barrel looks in great condition, all markings are clear and so strikingly Green with some light surface wear but nothing serious. the photos shows what you are getting and i'd say its bang neat and tidy!

This Helios performs so well, that i call it a wolf in sheeps clothing! You will be AMAZED!
