This is Tampa Dave's Xaphoon Deluxe Plus Package,
which includes a FREE additional reed, and a cotton-wire swab.

The #2 "beginner's" reed is softer than the #2½ reed
that normally accompanies this instrument.

It is easier to blow than the #2½, and will help beginners,
especially those with no experience playing reed instruments

The tip on this reed is also more delicate,
and players should take extra care
not to touch the reed tip to anything but the tongue.

Clothing often catches on the reed tip and destroys it.

The swab is typically a Venture clarinet swab, which fits nicely in the Xaphoon.
It is a twisted-wire cotton swab appx 11.75 inches in overall length,
with a plastic-tip to protect the instrument.

The unit comes with a #2½ strength reed,
which is a good general purpose strength.

I have added a #2 reed to help the beginner,
as it is easier to learn to create tones.

Experienced jazz sax musicians
might want to use harder reeds like a #3 or #4
to get a stronger, more powerful sound.

People who are used to playing recorders
might feel more comfortable using a #1½ or 2
which is softer and easier to play.

After a few sessions, you should be able to move on
to the #2½ to get a slightly better tone.
