Antwerp Silk Trade - 1646 Broadside.

A fascinating printed Broadside, dated Antwerp 3rd September 1646, in Flemish. It was issued by the Mayor & Aldermen of Antwerp ordering the dyers of black or coloured silk not to add to and adulterate dyes, and that silk so treated with defective dyes were to be disposed of within fourteen days.

A decorative crest within a floral border at top. Printed on laid paper.

Approx. 178x239mm., upper right corner clipped and lightly discoloured in places. However, overall in good order and a rare survivor.
