Unfortunately, the modern trend today is no longer to match accessory design to predefined specs product but rather to focus on broader product compatibility. For example, our competitors would simply email a foreign manufacture asking for any charger they have on the shelf. Their approach is if the connector fits than it should work, however, at Gomadic we know the long term the effects could be damaging with this approach.

We diligently design each charger connector to the OEM specification and requirements. If the connector needs a specific combination of jumpers, resistors or a secondary ground lead then that is what the design gets. Furthermore we take the time to test the design in our USA lab by Gomadic engineers and technicians.
