GENERAL ADVICE ON THE RULES OF SMOKING A PIPE as recommended by the manufacturers:

Mechanism of Smoking

 Please use light and quick puffs rather than long and hard puffs. Long and hard puffs may cause the bowl of the pipe to burn through which will ruin the pipe and, more importantly, may result in you burning your tongue.

Filling the bowl of your pipe

 This step is the most difficult to master, but it affects the rest of your smoke.  Fill the bowl loosely with tobacco and press it lightly down with the tamper. The bowl should now be filled halfway from the bottom. Fill the bowl again to the top and compress a bit more, packing more firmly. Now your bowl is about 3/4 full.  Now top off the bowl with more tobacco and press down.  There should be a slight space between the top of the bowl and the tobacco.

Smoking a NEW pipe

Step 1: Fill in the bowl with tobacco a little bit more loosely  than usual, and only one third way from the bottom and smoke the pipe to the end. Do it for at least 6-8 days.

Step 2:  Fill the pipe half way up and repeat the same.

Step 3:  Fill the pipe 3/4 way up and repeat the same.  

Now your new pipe is ready for  smoke
