Purple Mimosa or Silktree

Up for bid are seeds of Albizia Summer Chocolate.  This unique form of this beautiful and unique tree that gets very beautiful pink flowers and unique purple fernlike typical mimosa leaves HOWEVER not all seedlings will be purple, so only purchase these seeds if you understand that the seedlings are variable and there is just the chance of purple seedlings.  Generally 10 to 20 percent will be purple, but also, the seedlings all start green, and the ones that will turn purple generally do so after several months of growth and only after exposure to full sun.  Most people view this as a bargain for a chance to get a Purple Mimosa since the grafted plants are so expensive, but I just provide these for people who like to experiment and take a chance.  These beautiful plants are hardy to USDA zone 6 or possibly colder with protection.  They would make excellent additions to your rare plant collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard.
