JEAN POUYAT Antique TRAY/PLATTER Art Nouveau LIMOGES FRANCE Hand Painted& Signed

A hand painted and signed porcelain Tray with the Jean Pouyat / Limoges France mark.

We are pleased to present this porcelain Tray or Platter for your consideration. It has a beautiful hand-painted Chrysanthemum (or possibly Carnations) floral design, with a gold lustre accent around the rim.

The Tray is about 1/2 inch high at its edge, and it measures 16 inches across and 13 inches deep. It weighs 2 pounds 9 ounces. The back has the green J.P.L. France (Jean Pouyat / Limoges) mark, which was used from 1890 to 1932. There is also a handwritten name which we believe is that of the artist.

Some of the gold lustre has worn away, but we estimate that it is 95 percent intact. There is some excess gold lustre seen in a few places on the outside edge of the rim. A few minor glaze imperfections are noted. There are no chips, cracks, crazing, hairlines, or repairs, and we rate the overall condition of the Tray as very good.

This is an attractive piece that could be used as a vanity tray, centerpiece platter, or for an intimate coffee or tea service. Or, just hang it up and enjoy it for its decorative charm!
