A York County, Pennsylvania, War Bond for the Revolutionary War used to provide horses for George Washington's Army.  A bond issued to George Kerr, of York County, Pennsylvania for "one Bay horse twelve years old and fifteen hands high for a waggon which has been appraised by two Freeholders, on oath at the Sum of Eighteen pounds specie....and for which the State is now justly indebted to him that Sum, with Interest."  Dated August 25, 1780 and signed by James Chamberlain (1745-1819) who was a Revolutionary patriot and military officer holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  Washington's Army was in desparate need of horses and they were obtained from local farmers who, both willingly and unwillingly, saw their horses march off with the Army.  A very rare piece of Revolutionary War history.  We are full time autograph and document dealers registered with the UACC (#036), and members of the Manuscript Society.  Payments must be by Pay Pal.  We will combine shipping on multiple purchases.  Buyers in New York State must pay sales tax on both the sale price plus the shipping charge with rates based on the county of residence so please wait for invoice with before payment.  For thousands more items please visit my E-Bay store.
