Payment

Paypal payments due within three days of the auction close, and the same day in the case of Buy It Now items. If you have a bid on an unclosed auction and wish to combine ship please let us know and we will be flexible on the payment due date.

Shipping

     Our items ship same business day cleared paypal payment is received prior to 2:00 pm Eastern Time.         

 COMBINED SHIPPING:  Save approximately $2.00 in shipping cost for each media item you combine after the first item.   Please request a combined invoice.

YOUR SHIPPING COSTS: Actual Cost of Postage with delivery confirmation.   The delivery confirmation cost is .19 cents.

   HANDLING FEES:  $0.00 

    Shipping Method:  Unless requested otherwise or the item weighs significantly less than one pound we ship our books domestically by media mail.  Media mail can take 2-9 for delivery once it leaves our shop (it usually doesn't but it can.)

The Missing Piece is a green shop so we repurpose boxes (as long as it is legal of course).  If your needs require that your items be shipped in a package that when the outer wrapping is removed, is above the elegance level of for example a spaghetti box, please just let us know.

USEFUL INFO IF YOU'RE NEW TO THE MISSING PIECE, EBAY, OR THE INTRICACIES OF THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE:

EBAY FEEDBACK A lot of sellers block bids from new e-bayers, we do not.  We do ask you realize that feedback is important and 1 and 2's in feedback can harm a seller financially for a long time.  The Missing Piece works hard to accurately describe our items, ship timely and communicate with you.  If there are problems, if you are disappointed with your purchase or our customer service please contact us and we will work with you to make it right.   Please contact us with any dissatisfaction PRIOR to leaving feedback. If we fix the problem to your satisfaction please do not go ahead and leave a 1 or 2 because of your initial dissatisfaction.    

UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE (USPS):  MEDIA MAIL  Only available when the buyer and the seller are in the United States and the item is media, books are media items. The first pound of media mail postage costs $2.57 with delivery confirmation.  Each additional pound costs .39 cents. A general guideline of a books weight (meaning this doesn't work for every book) is 1 lb for a hardback and approximately 1/2 a pound for a paperback. The USPS does not deal in fractions of a pound when pricing media mail.  8 oz of media mail costs the same to ship as 1 lb. To ship 1 lb and 1 oz of media mail costs the same to ship as 2 lbs. You can often tell how much a book weighs if the seller has posted the pre-printed information in the additional details description that appears prior to the sellers customized description. HOWEVER, realize that information can be wrong and it does not take into account the weight of the box and other shipping materials.  Media mail is relatively cheap but it can be slow.  It truly can take up to 9 business days to receive from the time it hits the post office.  Your seller has absolutely NO control over the shipping time once it leaves their hands. When you are shopping at THE MISSING PIECE and you  would  like a shipping method that is not available to you at check out simply e-bay message us and we will send you the appropriate invoice as long as your preferred method is legal and available from the United States Post Office.   

COMBINING MEDIA AND NON-MEDIA:  If you win media and non-media items from us we will combine shipping only if it works to your advantage which is not always the case because you can't mail anything that is not media by media mail.  Priority and parcel post are both more expensive than media mail.
