Offering French Art Medal CONTEMPLATION by Auguste Maillard.  Struck in Bronze by the Paris Mint, it is 56 x 70 mm (about 2 1/4  x 2 3/4") in size.  

The edge is stamped Bronze, with the cornucopia of the Paris Mint.

The obverse is a seated female with a young boy, looking out over the sea at the Sun setting behind mountains. with "CONTEMPLATION" below.

The reverse is blank.

The obverse is in very nice condition, with just a touch of rubbing wear at the highest points of the design.

The blank reverse has been heavily scratched.    

The medal in the photos is the one being offered. I invite you to have a good look before buying.
