Bear

Antique Carved Black Forest Bear Thimble Holder

Switzerland * Circa 1890s

This handsome antique bear is sitting up and holding a thimble in his paws. The bear is called a Black Forest carving, but was actually carved in Switzerland circa 1890-1900. His thimble is brass with a band of stars and is German with the Gabler star on top. It's about an American size 8 (15 mm diameter opening) and has no holes, dents or other damage.

The bear has black glass eyes and very nice carved detail all around. It's also in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or loss and he measures 2 1/2" tall

I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented.
