This version is the largest and rarest Rolex ARMY Watch in WWII semi-bubbleback

A query was raised re. Italian Rolex Book by Osvaldo, p. 105
and the reference to the 2 Rolex Army sizes.

In a 10yr old Hong Kong Auction-where smaller size version sold

for over $6000; 5000 Euros

the text at bottom references said book and the 2 sizes.

The crystal is plastic and if desired any scratches can be buffed out
 

Reference 3139 was available in two case sizes, mid-sized 29mm and a the much larger 31mm size. 

The dial of this watch is interesting as it has a typical “military-type” layout, with large clear 

luminous Arabic and baton markers

This clearly was the reason for the name “Army” on the dial.
