I don't have a lot of information on this band and I'm not even sure how I found out about them. But, I've always had a soft spot for Metal MC's "Born To Party" album, which was/is kind of hard to find on CD.

This album came out a year after Anthrax did the "I'm The Man" album. So, they weren't the first band to mix rock and rap. But, they were one of the first few.

Honestly, it's not an exceptionally strong album and the first three tracks, "MC Theme," "Sink Or Swim" and "Born To Party" are probably the best of the bunch. They're pretty rockin' tunes. The rest of the album, it might take some time for it to grow on you. It's at least worth a listen.

Metal MC - Born to Party (a 1 album wonder) hit the seen in 1988 trying to grasp at the popularity, and huge success of the Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill album just a few years before. There version of combining Heavy Metal music, and Rap music did not seem to catch on though. They were not very well known, and seem to have gotten very little recognition for their unique style of music. I feel they were overlooked in music history with there "white boy" version of a Metal/Rap group because the general "Heavy Metal" music listeners back then did not like Rap music, or any versions of it, and..
