A must have "Detour Records" release that came out in 2000 but sold out very quickly... This new pressing see's 500 copies re-pressed due to popular demand!!! When the album originally came out in 2000, the press release stated.... Here it is - the one we've all been waiting for!!! When The Circles reformed a couple of years ago to play the Mods Mayday 1999 gig - they soon found themselves being asked the same question again and again - "when are you going to put out an album of new material?". Well, they locked themselves into a studio and toiled away for a few months and at the end of it they emerged, shielding their eyes from the sunlight but holding in their hands this absolute beast of an album. 12 tracks (14 on CD) of the purest '79 Mod Revival you will EVER hear. This album features new songs and re-recordings of a few old favourites that until now were only available on the live 'Private World' LP. One thing strikes you as soon as you hear the first few notes of this release - the band have not lost an ounce of their passion and anger over the 20 odd years since they left the scene. This album is an outstanding piece of work that combines the raw energy of the '79 Revival with a maturity that can only come from years of experience. Sure, it's been a long time coming - but the band have done themselves proud - and this LP will surely go down in history as one of the all-time Mod classics - believe me it's that good! The CD version comes with two extra tracks - being the 'Private World' and 'All Or Nothing' tracks that appeared on the groups 'Detour' 7".

Album Notes
The Circles were part of the classic mod revival scene, with singles and albums out in 1979 and 1980. Detour Records approached them not only to reissue a 1980 live album but to re-form for a single concert. This led them to start gigging again and to record Looking Back, their first album in 20 years. They represent the mod sensibilities of powerful chords contrasted with touching lyrics. Socially aware and experienced, the new material from the Circles is open-eyed, poetic power pop. ~ Tom Schulte

COUPLE OF REVIEWS:

Thanks mickroberts from 2001:
What a album, when I found out the circles had been back in the studio to record some new material I just knew i had to buy this. And I'm glad to say I'm not dissapointed at all its brilliant. Mick walkers singing and songwriting is better than ever,1979 mod revival music in 2001 I'm in heaven.

Thanks Mark W Muir from 2005:
When a band get back together almost twenty years after first making there mark on the music scene, the first thing i say is WHY. Well Mick and the boys tell you why with this blazing album a mixture of old and new tunes this album is probably one of the best modern Mod releases to slap you in the face and make you feel a teenager again(NEARLY).From the opener Bury Your Head you know it's the bizz.
The cover of All Or Nothing is the best version apart from the original i have ever heard Mick Walker is one of very few who can sing a song like that and get away with it.Sadly weve lost this great band again, hopefully they will one day come back for more Mick Walker has to much to offer to the scene to just stop.COME BACK PLEASE.
