EREBUS voice architecture begins with two wide range VCO's with oscillator one featuring Saw and Square wave shapes with a frequency range of 8,16 and 32 feet and oscillator 2 featuring saw and triangle wave shapes with a frequency range of 4,8 and 16 feet. Each oscillator features its own glide control and fine tune / detune control which controls the interval for playing paraphonically or the amount of detune when playing in unison.
The filter is a 2-pole 12dB pre-fed resonating low pass filter, the cut off and resonance of which can be controlled by plugging in a patch cable from one of the modular outputs of the synth. Other patch input points include OS1, OS2, VCF, CV, ECHO,GATE, LFRO/R, LFO/D and RES. Modular outputs include MOD with depth control, GATE, ENV with depth control, CV1, CV2 and LFO. The patch points on the EREBUS make this an excellent choice for experimentation and a great way to get into modular synthesis as this unit will play nicely with any synth using the 1V/Octave control voltage system such as Eurorack. Perhaps the inspirational component of the EREBUS is the voltage controlled delay and echo unit, which adds a luscious colour and tone to any synth timbre and further expands the creative potential of this synth.
