OTHER INFORMATION:
Derventio Books: I'm a small
independent bookseller who takes pride in what I do. I don't use stock images,
and I inspect and photograph every item myself. I try and offer the kind of
friendly service I like to receive. This includes: competitive prices, straight
forward descriptions, good communications and items that are well packaged. I'm
always happy to answer any questions.
Combined Postage: Please
contact me about buying multiple items and combined postage. I will always try
and help. Alternatively please put the items into your ‘Shopping basket’ and
pay for them as a single transaction. This way I can refund you any savings on
posting the items together.
International buyers: Contact me for
a quote – often I can do a better price when compared to eBay's International
shipping service.
Returns: If you are unhappy in any way
with the item you’ve bought, please contact me. I will always do my best to but
things right. If you want to return an item, it is your right to do so within
14 days, but again I’d be grateful if you would contact me first to make
arrangements.
CONDITION:
All the books and magazines I sell are pre-owned so they are
likely to have some wear. Where possible I will include multiple photos, to
help you judge the condition. Obviously condition is subjective, but this is my
guide:
FINE (F) – Sometimes referred to as ‘Mint’. This is a book or magazine
which has been protected and carefully stored from new. It is completely
undamaged and unmarked.
NEAR FINE (NF) – Nearly perfect.
Just a hint of shelf or storage wear.
VERY GOOD (VG) – A book or magazine that has been used or read, but is still very
presentable. This is the widest category for pre-owned books & magazines.
There will be some signs of shelf wear such as light rubbing, small marks or
creases. There may also be some paper discolouration on older paperbacks and
some magazines. Anything significant will be mentioned separately.
GOOD (G) – A book or magazine
that is complete, but will it is likely to be well read. It will have obvious
wear which may include minor damage or wear to the spine or covers, along with
rips to a cover or dust wrapper, noticeable marks, staining or larger creases.
The book may also be slightly out of shape.
POOR (P) – Sometimes the word
‘Fair’ is used by some book sellers. This will be an item that will have suffered significant damage or very heavy wear. Its cover
may be badly ripped or stained. There may be missing pages. I would only offer
such an item for sale because of its rarity or research value.
Up to 2 kg of books or magazines can be sent via the Royal Mail
small parcel rate (depending on size) but for a combined postage refund please
put all the items in your shopping basket first, and pay as a single
transaction.
POSTAGE & PACKAGING
All items will be well packaged. I try and pack things how
I'd like to receive them.
Where postage is advised separately the charge is based on the
actual postage cost plus around 30p towards the cost of packaging which
includes new cardboard mailers, padded envelopes cardboard, bubble-wrap, tape
etc. I also recycle packaging wherever possible.
I post most items within 48 hours (two working days) of payment
being received.
I use Royal Mail second class up to 2 kg. Larger items are usually
sent via courier.
Most things I send inside the UK usually arrive within five
working days of its posting date. If your item has not arrived in that time,
please check neighbours, you’re local sorting office (who may be holding it
following a delivery attempt) and of course message me.
I’m proud of the service I offer and if any problems or issues do
arise - please message me first. I will always do my best for you.
