VERY GOOD CONDITION

This sale is for a large size hardback FIRST EDITION entitled “The Registers of Bishop Henry Burghersh 1320-1342,” Volume I: Institutions to Benefices in the Archdeaconries of Lincoln, Stow and Leicester, edited by Nicholas Bennett.

It was published for The Lincoln Record Society, by The Boydell Press, an imprint of Boydell & Brewer Ltd., of Woodbridge, Suffolk, and is the 1999 FIRST EDITION (stated in this form).

Lincoln Record Society is a British text publication society founded in 1910 which edits and publishes historic records relating to Lincolnshire and the Diocese of Lincoln. The ancient diocese covered not only Lincolnshire, but also Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Huntingdonshire and parts of Hertfordshire, and the society's publications may touch on the history of all these areas. In practice, they have tended to relate either to the ecclesiastical administration of the diocese (in its several geographical incarnations), or to the broader history of the county.

The book measures 9.5 inches x 6.25 inches and has 223 pages.

The book is in very good neat condition for its age, and is a touch grubby to the very good original dust-jacket (not even price-clipped), a previous owner’s gift inscription at the front and no other ink or pencil markings in the book.  The binding is very good with no loose or missing pages.

A wonderful FIRST EDITION.
