Many years ago I remember paying a few Deutchmarks (yes that long ago) to run my rental Opel Corsa on part of the famed Nurburgring long course. I did beat the cars claimed top speed of 165Km/hr by about 5 KM/Hr and returning the car to Hertz in Frankfurt with a slightly more broken in engine.
