Offered is this Alco RS-3, manufactured by Ajin of Korea and imported by Division Point Inc. This is Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific (the Milwaukee Road) Alco RSC-2. The Alco RSC-2 was designed for light rail loadings as the six axles distributed the weight of the locomotive over 6 contact points instead of 4. They also replaced steam locomotives on the Valley Division and were the first series of diesel locomotives to operate without steam locomotive protection. For those that wonder why you would buy brass just look at the detail on this Milwaukee Road locomotive. The trucks are an outstanding rendition of the A-1A trucks. The water cooled turbo and steam generator, along with the ducting fabricated as part of a winterization scheme are reproduced with the utmost care and detail making this the most accurate model of the 596 ever built. All Division Point models are museum quality and are produced in a limited edition. These Milwaukee Road locomotives are no exception and it is unlikely that if you take one to your local railroad club, there will be another there.
