ADDITIONAL INFO ON VINTAGE-VICTORIAN TCs:
Trade cards are bits of antique paper typically from the 1880s to 1920s or so. A lot of them were glued into scrapbooks, sometimes removed and replaced with other cards, even traded with friends, and so were handled quite a lot.

Some were trimmed at home to fit on scrapbook pages, while others were poorly/unevenly cut at the printer's, and sometimes the card had no border at all. Therefore, uneven borders do not necessarily mean that the card was trimmed intentionally. If measurements are important, please email me.

It has been my experience that antique paper items photograph extremely well (usually better than their actual condition), so please enlarge and have a close look at my photos to see the perimeter of the front of the card, including wear to corners, which most trade cards show to some degree and the back. If from a scrapbook, expect to see glue and scrapbook paper residues to back, along with some lifting of top paper layer that was torn away when card was removed from scrapbook. Often the advertising text is affected and occasionally there is some handwriting.

My trade cards come from several different sources, so are in varying conditions from worn to VG. Those that have major issues will be grouped together in lots eventually. I will be listing many trade cards in the next few months and, to speed up the process, will let my photos speak to condition rather than minutely describe each flaw. Please examine my front and back photos carefully, as they reflect condition far better than my words do. I want to list many trade cards quickly, so am not including dimensions. If a card's exact measurements are important to you, please email. As mentioned above, expect wear and soiling, age-toning, thumb marks, rounded and/or creased corners, chipping and, if from a scrapbook, damage associated with the removal process, including some dried glue residue to front of card.

DEVITO'S BOOKS-TV CLOSEOUT JEWELRY (not much jewelry left). I stock all sorts of antique and vintage items (and some new ones) found here and there around New England since 1984. I never know what I'll be unearthing and listing next, so please follow me on your My eBay page and receive automatic updates when new items are added. I post new listings every week.

SHIPPING TIME: Depending on sales volume, I ship two or three times a week, usually Wednesday and Saturday and one other weekday. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I ship more often. Please disregard the 10-business-day shipping estimate. EBay made me choose one. Normally I ship between 2-to-4 days after payment posts. In the summer, it may take longer. If there is going to be a delay, I shall e-mail you.

SHIPPING METHODS:

CARDS: I typically ship cards by First Class Letter rate to save you postage. However, it is not possible to do Delivery Confirmation on Letter rate, so if that is a concern to you, please email me before paying to ask for DC and I will switch shipping method to First Class Package rate which includes Delivery Confirmation. Please note that eBay's default setting for First Class shipping is the Package rate, but what you are quoted in my listing is the lower Letter rate (if package weighs 3 ounces or less) with a USPS surcharge for cardboard protection added to envelope.

BOOKS: I ship books Media Mail to the US; all other destinations I ship First Class International if book weighs less than 4 pounds, and Priority International if it is over 4 pounds. It is very, very expensive to ship Priority International, even with Flat Rate, so please ask about shipping before you buy. For US buyers, Media Mail is slow, so if you need or want your book quickly, please ask for Priority and I shall re-invoice you.

MAGAZINES: I ship most magazines by First Class Parcel rate. This includes Delivery Confirmation. Typically, only one or two lightweight magazines will meet the 13-ounce or under maximum for First Class. Beyond that weight, new magazines will have to ship Priority, old magazines, Media.

EVERYTHING ELSE: If item is under 13 ounces or less, shipping is by First Class Parcel rate. Over 13 ounces, item will ship by Priority: Flat Rate, or by weight (whichever is less expensive), or by Regional rate where available. I do not use Parcel Post rate because it is nearly the same rate as Priority and ships much more slowly.

POSTAGE & HANDLING: P&H includes exact postage (within two ounces) plus a nominal handling fee to help with the expenses of doing business with eBay/PayPal.

COMBO SHIPPING: I will be happy to combo ship, but must charge a modest handling fee for each item added to the package. EBay doesn't offer a fee discount on combo purchases so I must pass some of that expense on to the buyer. If you are purchasing more than one item from me, please wait for a revised invoice, as the automatic one that eBay sends shows full shipping for each item, and not the discount combo that I offer.

Timely payment is expected. If there will be a delay, please email to let me know.

Returns are expensive and it is disappointing for the buyer to pay shipping both ways and end up with nothing, so please ask if you are unsure about anything in my listing. I want you to be happy with your purchase. There are hundreds of thousands of sellers out there and I am pleased that you have chosen to shop with me. Welcome to my store and auctions. There is nothing I like better than repeat customers.
