VERY GOOD CONDITION

This sale is for a large size vintage hardback FIRST EDITION entitled “Take a Buttock of Beefe,” by Verity Isitt, with numerous illustrations in both COLOUR and black and white.

It was published by Ashford Press Publishing, of Southampton, and appears to be the 1987 FIRST EDITION.

A fascinating cook book, containing 80 recipes from the 17th century – the age of the Stuarts and the English Civil War.  The 80 recipes are paired with their modern equivalents.

The book measures 10.5 inches x 8 inches and has 180 pages + colour illustrations.

The book is in very good neat condition for its age, with small chips to the otherwise very good original dust-jacket (price-clipped). There are NO inscriptions/book-plates and NO other ink or pencil markings in the book.  The binding is very good with no loose or missing pages.

A wonderfully illustrated vintage FIRST EDITION.
