SUMMARY:
A mint and substantial solid silver fusee lever, centre seconds chronograph pocket watch made by Isaac Jacobs of Sunderland in the late 19th century. The watch in a very substantial silver case, so clearly made for someone with a deep pocket when new, 120 years ago.
This is a beautifully made English key-wound man's pocket watch, dating from ca. 1894, from the Victorian period, with a 9k gold balance. The watch is in full working order and comes complete with a key for winding and presentation box.

The buy it now price is a clear reflection of the incredible rarity, stunning condition and long-term investment for this watch. THE DIAL: 95% mint, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and in bright condition with no chips and a few hairlines. The dial with gold spade hands and blue seconds hand. Diameter is 48 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition.

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with gilt three quarter plate and a Bosely regulator, and blue steel screws. An uncut three arm 9k gold balance, with hairspring and club tooth lever escapement. The movement overall of good quality and jewelled to the balance staff. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this, and keeping very good time for a 120 year old watch. The watch with number 195,826, and signed Isaac Jacobs of Sunderland.

The watch comes with a period winding key for winding and hands set.  The watch typically for late English work winds in an anti-clock wise direction,  traditionalism till the end. The watch is key-wound, comes with a  watch key and set through the back for winding and via the central square for hands-set through the front. The watch with a dummy small slide button to the side of the case at 2.00, with the stop work long ago removed. The watch is much brighter and  crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equiment.  The watch is in very good working order for its age.

THE CASE: 95% mint, the solid silver double skinned case measures an impressive 57 mm. The front and rear covers are excellent, both with silver hinges and close nice and tightly. The case with Chester hall-marks and silver sterling marks. The case sponsor mark of "A.G." and case number of 195,826. The case with crisp and sharp engine turning to the case band, and with a shield and garter to centre. The case with a finely ribbed case band in very good order, with a dent at 4.00. The solid silver inner dust cuvette in good order. This is a high quality watch, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition.

This is a very fine Victorian period antique in simply stunning condition, which is a very rare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc.
