It was published by Country Life Limited, of London, in April, 1944.

One of the world's best-loved angling books. Airman, special correspondent, traveller, sportsman, Negley Farson has from his earliest years sought adventure as hungrily as most people seek security.  In this wonderful book he draws on his memories of flyfishing in Canada, Chile, England, the Western Isles of Scotland, Shetland, France, Norway, and the Caucasus

C. F. Tunnicliffe is Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe (1901-1979), a renowned naturalistic painter of British birds and other wildlife.  During his lifetime, he wrote and illustrated only six books, although he was a prolific illustrator of the work of others.
