The 1/5th scale Baja 5B desert racing buggy has been a huge success since its debut, and the self-build Baja 5B SS helped explode large-scale racing into the mainstream, because it allows serious RC fans the chance to build and optimize a large-scale buggy from the ground up. Loaded with options that enhance the Baja's speed and power, the 'SS' version allows serious RC hobbyists the chance to add in more aftermarket goodies to make a truly one-of-a-kind Baja 5B.
Now you can get your hands on the new, updated for 2014 Baja 5B SS! This is a FULL OPTION Baja 5B kit that you assemble yourself, and now we've improved its durability even further with Super Heavy Duty options previously unavailable on Baja buggy models!
The Baja SS is an epic member of HPI's range of upgraded ‘Super Sport’ models that feature kit versions of HPI's popular RTR models, with additional option parts added to enhance the enjoyment of your kit. A long list of option parts is included with the SS version of the Baja 5B. As you build the kit, you add in the options that come in the box, extra HPI options, and your own radio gear and electronics - although we include the powerful SFL-10MG large scale metal-gear servo to get you started!
Packed with Even More Factory Options for 2014!
To handle the extra horsepower of the Fuelie 26S, the drivetrain of the Baja SS is boosted with specially designed option parts that can handle the power increase. Providing a boost of extra power is the #86690 Aluminum Tuned Pipe - now complete with #87288 steel header for even more durability - designed just for the 26cc engine for even more acceleration power. The #15448 8000 RPM Clutch lets the engine rev up to a high RPM before engaging the drivetrain, giving you lightning-fast acceleration off the starting line and out of every corner. Protecting the differential is the #87568 Aluminium Alloy Diff Case, giving protection from the extreme strength of the engine. When it comes to transferring all this power into breathtaking action on the ground, for 2014 we've added even more options to make the Baja5B SS even better value! The #104966 Super Heavy Duty Dogbones get the power from the diff to the rear wheels with chunky steel driveshafts and jointed rubber boots for minimal loss of power. Add the #112845 Heavy Duty front hubs and the #104781 One Piece Rear Uprights and we have one tough unit ready to blast deserts, rugged wasteland and anything in it's path with unshakeable durability
Fuelie 26cc Gasoline Engine
At the heart of the Baja SS is the #15403 Fuelie 26S 26cc engine, a tougher, stronger and more powerful engine than the standard 23cc Fuelie engine in the Baja 5B RTR buggy. With more displacement you get increased low-end grunt, more acceleration and huge top-end speed! The Fuelie 26S is a 2-stroke engine powered by regular pump gasoline (petrol) that is mixed with 2-stroke engine oil, so the running cost of the engine is extremely low when compared to any normal nitromethane-powered glow engine. You’ll spend just pennies per tank on fuel!
SFL-10 MG Steering Servo
In addition to all the heavy duty options included with the kit, you get a tough, super-strong steering servo #80589 that is already equipped with the #80584 Metal Gear Steering upgrade. This allows you to have the security of reliable, quick steering in all conditions. With a powerful servo controlling the steering, the Baja SS will track straight and true when you want it to, no matter how bumpy the running surface. The front wheels will also stay pointed in the right direction as you power through the turns! This is a great standard feature of the Baja SS, putting you well on your way to a solid electronics package.

Most items are shipped via United States Postal Service or Fedex. We do not offer local pick-up. All items must be shipped on our shipper ID. We cannot use other accounts. International Duties, Taxes and Fees:

Order processing:
Orders are shipped daily, Monday through Friday. We do not ship on weekends or National holidays. Once payments are verified, items are typically shipped within two business days. Orders paid by PayPal and e-Checks are only shipped to the confirmed address, no exceptions. If address is unconfirmed, payment will be refunded and auction cancelled.
Reduced shipping for multiple items:
We combine shipping for multiple items as long as you do not complete checkout prior to adding additional items. For orders with multiple items, you will be charged the appropriate additional item fee after the first item which will be charged at the single item rate.
Insurance:
All items are insured. If your item is damaged in shipment, we will work with you to remedy the situation with shipping carriers.
Order tracking:
You will receive an order confirmation with a tracking number once the item ships. The status of the order may be tracked on currier website. Tracking is not available for Military APO/FPO shipments.
Military shipments:
We ship all items to APO/FPO addresses via US Postal Service Priority Mail. Please allow up to 2-4 weeks for delivery. Tracking for these shipments is not available.
Payment and Sales Tax:
All items must be paid within 7 days. You will receive a payment notification after seven days. If payment is not received by the 7th day, your auction will be revoked and considered non-paid. A non-paying bidder report will be filed with eBay. If you bid on the item in error, just contact us and we can cancel the purchase. All payments must be made in US Currency.
State law requires that we charge sales tax on all orders shipped to the states of New Jersey at 7.0%.
We accept PayPal payments. If your PayPal account is linked to a checking or other banking account, payment may be considered an e-check. PayPal e-checks will not be shipped until PayPal provides verification of payment. This requires 3-5 business days from the date that checkout is completed. All shipments, no exceptions will only be shipped to the confirmed address with PayPal. If not confirmed, payment will be refunded, and auction cancelled.
Your satisfaction is important to us. If for any reason, you are not happy with your item, it may be returned within 7 days of receiving the item. The item must be received in the same condition as it was sold and include all accessories, if applicable. Items can not be returned in a used state. Buyer is responsible for cost of shipping back to us for refund. Refunded amount is only the auction price, shipping is not refunded.
Return Guidelines:

We will arrange to replace your item and pick-up the incorrect item as quickly as possible.
