Hardbound in about Near Fine condition with dust jacket, 160 pages includes a table of CONTENTS, measures approximately 6 ¾” x 9 ¾”.

The jacket is clean with wear to the edges and minor chipping, but the price is intact and colors still bright. Minor repairs have been made on the reverse side with acid-free mending tissue to secure the flaws and it has been placed in an Archival Quality clear Mylar jacket protector, still making a very attractive presentation.

The boards are covered in a variegated orange paper, title blind stamped in black on the spine only. The surfaces are clean and bright with a bit of rounding of the corners and modest wear to the edges, but no tears, stains or fading.

The interior is clean and firmly bound bound, in exceptional condition. Modest age toning is noted but no foxing and no ownership indications, no marks, creases or tears.

HAWAII SAYS ”Aloha” is Don Blanding’s most colorful book of verse. Many of the woodcut illustrations that normally appear only in black and white are presented in the vibrant colors of green, orange and azure blue. The actual size of the book is considerably larger than many of his publications with numerous full-page displays plus 8 double-page scenes.

The poems are partly new and partly the best of the best from previous years.

Truly and outstanding edition full of the words and colors of joy and aloha. Published in a very limited quantity compared to so many of his other works, this was Mr. Blanding’s final independent presentation prior to his passing in 1957. A seldom available but an absolutely beautiful addition to a Hawaiian collection.
