DESCRIPTION. A stunning large on on canvas by  British nineteenth century artist  John  Bell who was a noted and well travelled landscape artist  and he specialised in these detailed romantacised stunning landscapes which he exhibited between 1850-1880

This paintingh portrays a busy ia panoramic capriccio Italian lake aroung Lake Maggiore with the Alps in the background. There  are sailors with thier boat  to the  left and a fine townscape to the right,. The azure blue and psky blue pinnks of the sky and mountains are very striking

Painted in circa 1870 with beautiful light and delicate  brushwork it is a gem
