DETAILS

The Ford radios manufactured by Delco are known for CD6 drive problems. Don't let a defective radio keep you from enjoying your vehicle. Get your replacement CD6 mechanism from ReplacementRadios. If you're in need of a drive for the Delco CD6 radio in your 2005-2006 Ford or Mercury vehicle because of CD Error messages, Bad Disc messages or basic load and eject problems, you've come to the right place. This is a brand new CD6 drive mechanism (mech).

This can ONLY be used on Delco manufactured Ford CD6 radios from 2005 and 2006. This is NOT compatible with the Visteon or Pioneer manufactured Ford radios. We have provided a picture of the drive. It is in your best interest to pop the top off your radio and make sure this is the drive you have because returns are not accepted. (Yes, there is a warranty but a warranty exchange is not the same thing as a return.) Color of the metal used for the drive can sometimes vary but that doesn't affect compatibility. Just because you have a vehicle on the application list does not mean your vehicle has a Delco radio. Ford used Pioneer and Visteon as well and those radios use different drives.

Whatever you do, make sure to unplug your radio from the harness and let it sit for at least 60 minutes before attempting to do the repair. We do not remind you of this anywhere other than this ad so take note now!

This is NOT the same as the 2007+ version. This is also not compatible on Visteon or Pioneer manufactured radios. Returns are not accepted, so make sure you're ordering the right thing. Color of the metal can sometimes vary but that doesn't affect compatibility.

Instructions for installation or removal are not included. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this replacement or are not qualified to perform the replacement you should seek an electronics shop that will do it for you or ask us about sending it in for us to do it. We can tell you that you MUST disconnect the negative battery terminal or remove the plugs from the back of the radio and let it sit for at least 60 minutes BEFORE you attempt to do any work on the radio. Failure to do so can result in a short within the radio. We've had many reports of it from people who ignored this caution. Don't be one of them!!

APPLICATIONS

Radios with this same basic Delco CD6 mech were offered in some 2005-2006 Ford and Mercury vehicles. It will NOT work in the 2007+ radios. It will not work on the Pioneer or Visteon manufactured radios. Returns are not accepted for this item, so make sure you re-read this ad and understand what you're getting. Yes, there is a warranty but a warranty exchange is different from a return. Make sure you pop the top off your radio and compare your drive to this picture. It should look virtually identical if it is the correct one. Color of the metal can sometimes vary but that doesn't affect compatibility.
