EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION
It is a Native American belief that all things have a life force or spirit, and that all are interconnected. Every plant, animal and stone are thought to influence life around it, just as the stars are thought to influence our lives.
By wearing a medicine bag containing items of special influence or meaning, it is believed you can exert some control over your life. Charms or other items of significance were frequently added to one's medicine bag over time.
Some traditional Items of Influence are:
Corn- for nourishment and good health
Sage- for wisdom and good judgement
Cedar- for strength & longevity
Beeswax- for fertility
Turquoise- for love and tranquility
Silver- for wealth
Crystal- for power
