Nidek MK-2000 Microkeratome!  Includes

footswitch, motor, 8.5/ 9.5 Sized Rings &

130/160 Sized Heads

Thank you for viewing this listing for our Refurbished Nidek MK-2000 Microkeratome, this microkeratome was lightly used by one physician as a back up to a Femtosecond Laser. Upon retirement, we purchased his entire office which included this keratome.

This unit has been fully refurbished and serviced by our technicians at our headquarters in Tampa, Florida, USA to ensure it is working to the manufacturers specifications. The motor performs flawlessly during the forward pass and all parameters are well within specifications.

All three heads are clean and even under very close inspection are free of any marks or debris. All four metal rings are also in excellent condition, well protected in their storage cases.

The MK2000 is no longer being manufactured, finding a unit this clean with such little use is becoming very difficult to find. This unit is in excellent complete condition both cosmetically and mechanically.

This system includes everything shown in the photos:

  • (2) 160 metal heads
  • (1) 130 metal head
  • (1) 9.5 metal ring
  • (1) 8.5 metal ring
  • Motor
  • Foot Pedal
  • Storage Cases
  • Operators Manual
  • Motor Cord (which is brand new)

MOTORS AND GEARS

One of the NIDEK-MK-2000’s motors oscillates the blade at a fixed rate of 9,000 rpm, and the second advances and retracts the microkeratome head and blade at a fixed rate of 2 mm per second. The unit possesses no external gears or tracks, a design that averts jamming or mechanical obstruction of the microkeratome head during its forward pass.

VACUUM

The best design feature of this unit is its vacuum system, which is extremely reliable and provides superior suction. The unit eliminates excessive pressure by using dual suction lines to provide continual corneal vacuum readings.

The suction ring features two vacuum ports, the ports are located where the conjunctival fornix is placed on a mild stretch and adhere more tightly to the globe. The vacuum system’s internal alarm accurately monitors vacuum levels by emitting an audible sound until adequate suction is achieved and maintained. When the alarm is active, the surgeon cannot initiate a forward pass.
